Why ban it? Keeping in mind our current predicament, our country is in no place to ban an addictive drug.

If these two are implemented, then khat will have no market in our country. You don't even need to ban it.

1. Make the transportation difficult i.e. triple the tax on planes landing on airstrips, and vehicles entering their way into the country.
2. Fine all khat sellers $100 +.

They should put sales tax on khat. Imagine how money the govt will take in. :stevej:

The government in 1983 had banned for that reason
 
In the medieval times khat was almost like a kind of modern day red bull .it was consumed for purposes of travel , studying and by Sufis .khat is today worse than crack cocaine .
