Somalia to print first banknotes in 25 years and what I wish to be depicted on them

Should the new bank notes include Somali individuals or simply stick to landmarks/animals?

Somali Shilling banknote Denominations were 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000.
While coins were 5 centi, 10 centi, 50 centi and 1 Shilling. They should introduce 20 Centi and 2 Shilling Coins

What do you think of my proposal?

I think my proposal is a nice mixture of landmark/geography, culture , individuals (republic era politicians 1960-1969, anti colonial leaders& poets/scholars/musician, etc..) animals.

Only pre civil war heroes should be on the face of our notes (if any men are to be on it). We don't to do need anything inflammatory.

Nice post though. :yousmart:

1 dollar = 15,000 shilling. It was 22,000 not long ago

1 dollar = 7500/8000 Somaliland shilling

No point of printing 500 or 100 if the dollar is worth 15,000 shillings
How is Somaliland's shilling worth more than our own?
:ileycry:
:mjkkk:

If we heavily restricted inflation and avoided printing money like there's no tomorrow.
And asked the world bank to have a fixed exchange rate.
We could stop our money from being so cheap
:wow:

Somaliland has better control of its montairy supply, in Somalia 98 % of all shillings are fake and therefore worthless :bell:

New money
The only currency note available in Somalia is the 1,000 shilling. Smaller denominations like the 500, 50 and 20 shillings stopped circulating either immediately after the war or over the years. The new banknotes are expected to be in small denominations, and the government will be expected to clarify the purchasing power of these new notes in comparison to the already circulating ones—98% of which are considered fake by the IMF

Somaliland money is becoming more cheaper.

Not long ago it was 6000 shilling. Now its nearly 8000 kun.

50 shilling became obsolete and soon 100 shilling might become useless.
