There's another way besides going through the refugee camps. They come in using someone else's passport, and regardless of that fact the law states that they can't be turned away if they're genuine refugees. The embassy is determining whether or not they're genuine.

The Somali consulate in NYC was on the same block where Arthur Ashe and Cher lived.

The Somali embassy was behind on electricity and water bills. My uncle told me. He lived there. He had to beg other embassies for food. He even begged Arthur Ashe for food.
