reminds me of the somali FIBA team lol. Their whole roster is just diaspora, basketball isn’t a big sport in Somalia.

ironically the FIBA team is much more successful than the soccer team. Farmaajo even said he’d consider moving the national sport to basketball if they keep outperforming the soccer team.

I watched some of their games, they have mostly mediocre players but they have 1 or 2 star players who really put the team together.

Imagine a somalia with basketball courts and community centres to run these recreational sport for free paid by the government. Then we’d have less people spending their free time chewing khat.
