Somalia's postal debt has been settled after 42 years, and the country has attained full Universal Postal Union (UPU) membership.

Full membership in the Universal Postal Union (UPU) means that Somalia can now fully participate in the global postal system. This includes:

  1. Sending and Receiving Mail Internationally: Somalia can send and receive mail and packages to and from other countries smoothly.
  2. Access to Global Postal Services: Somalia benefits from international postal regulations and standards, ensuring reliable and efficient mail services.
  3. Participation in Decision-Making: Somalia can take part in UPU meetings and have a say in the policies and rules that govern international mail services.
