You had two hawiye presidents (Sh.Shariif and Hassan Sheikh) and no results, what makes you think things will be different with another Hawiye president?
No more talks , Somaliland isn't interested in talks to convince Somalia to accept SL independence. The leaders in Somaliland seem to like the status quo, their happy with de facto Independence with no recognition
You can't hold talks with a failed state
You are internationally considered part of Somalia so you either talk to us or forget about recognition.You can't hold talks with a failed state

If i was a Somalilander i would try to push for talks right now while Somalia is unstable. Once somalia gets fully stabilized SL chances of getting independence will go to almost zero
How naive. All Hawiye presidents rejected the independence of Somalialnd, even your close ally Aidiid. Salad/ICU openly stated that they do not recognize Somaliland and will bring it under its fold. Irrespective of clan allegiances you really think any Hawiye president will accept to lose 30% of its landmass and strategic seafront proximity to Gulf of Aden?
Why willingly sign over a 1/3 of you territory with all its strategic value & possible natural resources when you can claim it all? What's the perceived benefit for a president hailing from Hawiye or even Dir/D&M president? It is nothing short of political suicide and will 100% get rejected by parliament.
The best you can hope for is a referendum and even than it is not likely with your self imposed isolation.

Somaliland is officially considered part of Somalia. You want full recognition? Fine, you need to have talks with the Federal governement. That's the only way you will be recognized, if Somalia accepts SL as an independent country the rest of the world will have no problem recognizing you.
It seems though you guys don't actually want recognition, well no problem. Stay unrecognized for the next 50 years I don't care.

The difference is they enjoy international support, irrespective of how corrupt and incompetent they might be. China in coming up. Africa is the new battle ground between global powers with Ethiopia being the biggest player in the strategic HoA that's why everyone is competing to win their favor.
Somalia's anarchy is no longer an option like it used to in 90s & 2000s that is why Turkey is building a strong National Army, Kenya is supporting Jubaland, Gulf Arabs got Somaliland & Puntland on lock. We are at the forefront of a new era and its not looking good to Somaliland independence aspirations.

Hawiye could careless about Darod's formidable political representation or Isaaq's cuqdad towards Darood, they want to dominate both of you using Mogadishu's seat of power as a vehicle to advance their interest which was very close during ICU ascendance.
But if you want to continue with this zero sum game until IC or Ethiopia forces you to comply with Mogadishu than so be it.
