This is very good news for all Somalis, democracy is the way forward. Although I do not agree with the independence of Somaliland, it makes me happy to see it work under a democracy. Under whatever government Somalia, Puntland or Somaliland, the people must be empowered to pave their own future. Hopefully corruption won't get too much in the way of the election, inshallah a popular leader like Farmajo is picked.
@merka anyone u supporting to win? Also who is the favourite? Is Silanyo running again? Lastly any pro-Somalia parties?

It is a good first step and Somaliland desperately needs the moral support that would come with it, I think it is more likely now than ever before.

I think this election is going to be a close one. The winner will be either Muse Bihi of the Kulmiye Party or Abdulrahman Mohamed Abdi Iiro of the Wadani Party. There are no pro-Somalia parties running.
Pres Silaanyo will step down after the election.
