Somaliland: Residents protest against the arrest of local Imam

Throngs of followers took to the streets in Goljano, Buhodle region after security forces put a preacher, religious teacher and local Imam at mosque behind bars.Mr. Husein Mohamed Mohamoud has been transferred to prison in Hargeisa after he was frogmarched from Goljano. The security forces declined to comment reasons for arresting the Imam but it is reported that he was suspected of having links with extremist groups.

Mr. Husein has been a teacher at Goljano district for ages and gave preaching lectures at the local mosque. Somaliland security forces were behind his heels and snooped on numerous occasions.Residents mainly students and colleague teachers showed a sense of solidarity and took to the streets to voice their dismay to the arrest of the Imam.

They called on the government of Somaliland to set the preacher free without further captivity and conditions.”He is innocent. He started teaching at Goljano school in 2009. The students he taught are out now.We are calling on the government to release him.” said one of the protesters."

How do these protestors know if he's innocent or not?
If he has links with extremists, I hope they f*ck him up real bad. You can only be harsh with these animals, it's the only thing they understand. It's the most effective way of keeping that shit at bay in third world countries.
In hindsight, I should stress, I'm not advocating him being violently assaulted. I mean imprisoned for a long time and to take his wealth and property.
