Somaliland Reaches out Japan & Palestine in establishing ties
Somaliland has reached out to establish ties with Japanese and Palestine through their ambassadors based in Djibouti. SL representative to Djibouti, Mr. Abdifatah Sa’ed Ahmed and flanked by the SL president advisor and former interior Minister, Hon. Ali Waran Ade met with Japanese and Palestinian ambassadors in Djibouti.
The two sides held discussions that lasted hours which they focused on setting up new bilateral ties with the aforementioned countries.
Mr. Abdifatah, SL representative to Djibouti has confirmed that he raised with diplomats from Japan to assist SL on the victims impacted by the drought. He also spoke with him on helping SL to dig wells. The Palestinian ambassador to Djibouti has asserted that there are firms from his country that will invest in Somaliland and will see the possible opportunities in the country. Somaliland is a broke away state from Somalia in the 1990’s after it went through civil wars. Somalia is adamant about preventing recognition of Somaliland as a sovereignty state.
