No. Adal had few arab settlers mainly in zeila but most of the people were cushitic-semitic speaking horn africans. The king had arab names but they were not ara themselves, we don't know their exact ethnicity but my best guess is that they were a mix of somalis and habesha muslims.
Arabization couldn't happen because there was no large arab population in Adal. Arabic was only the laguage of the elites who used it in governement affairs, but even if adal never fell the horn of africa wouldn't be arabized. On the other hand if we immagine a world in which Adal never fell or fell much later we would have more mixture between somalis,oromos and muslim habeshas in northern somalia and eastern ethiopia

I guess the names were mostly adopted due religious reasons, like in Europe, different language speakers mostly had similar names because of christianity. But knowing Arabic wasn't something unusual for rulers. And Somali clans were mentioned in Futuh alhabasha, so clan identity was pretty common.

Somali clans almost view themselves as different ethnicities. I think there is more comradery and solidarity between a Slavic Russian and a Tatar from Russia than between Somalis from different clans.

Lol most of the recordings were in Arabic and furthermore there were Afars Hararis Harla and other people groups too besides Somalis. Everyone learnt Arabic to speak with each other and because they were Muslim.
