Finasteride must also be used to preserve hair. It's tough as there is no cure, only treatments.

It disrupts the production of DHT. Cancer definitely isn't a side effect. Finasteride's actual use is to stop prostate enlargement developing into cancer.

Watery semen and tougher beard growth are the only semi-common side effects. Everything else is exceedingly rare
