If the dish is well seasoned and you still feel like your dish is missing something add some sort of acid like

Lemon juice/ lime juice balsamic/apple cider vinegar
Do this and you'll be surprised at how much this lifts the dish

Cook your rice/pasta with chicken or vegetable stock. It will suck up the flavors and be amazing.

Always taste and add accordingly like

If it’s too spicy, stir in some cream

If it's too sour, stir in some brown sugar

If it's too sweet, try some lemon or lime juice

When ure done cooking most meats, let it rest for 5-10 minutes before cutting

If you cut too soon, the juices will run out and you'll be left with a dry piece of meat
