I think being anonymous has something to do with that, Twitter and Facebook you have to pretend to like people.

The more you get to know someone e.g their real name, they lose that fun appeal.

So true - anon is the best, plus no personalised dramas whatsoever. On FB I literally had to lock my account down to posting in private groups and using messenger because I have so many atheist and gay friends but 80% of my long time homies are batshit insane Muslims on line but different in person and I assume its because FB has all their relatives and friends on it who they have to prove themselves to.
