my friend and brother in islam, in our culture we wear a piece akin to skirtThey look hyper feminine
Genuine question, what else should be worn at a wedding, and where would you buy it.I donβt like to see it at weddings pls stop it.At the
Masjid itβs fine though!!
Modernised traditional clothes but I donβt know where it could be foundGenuine question, what else should be worn at a wedding, and where would you buy it.
I'm not wearing a dress lol most ppl think ur wearing some dress + most men are fat or skinny when they wear it which makes u look way less masculine, sometimes resembling women.so we should stop wearing the thobe because its arab wannabe clothing and looks gay, but youre fine with us wearing american clothes like shaati and trousers. Like im not against it, thats human and culture. We share clothing, its not a wannabe just because we wear clothing that originated from arabs. Furthermore, somalis and arabs have been close for centuries. Because of islam and trading, so of course we have adopted some of their clothing. Even traditional somali clothing has taken some design elements from arabs. Its not a bad thing, I mean im all for traditional clothing you know but this post is more of a jab at anti arab which directly stems from anti islam more then a genuine complaint. Also a bit weird that youre saying its gay and feminine, to what standard are you following? wearing clothing that covers you until your ankle is not gay, Maybe from an western standpoint where you view it as a dress but many cultures have clothing that stretches to the ankles. Even traditional somali clothing has it. I dont know why youre saying its gay. Thobe looks pretty masculine honestly unless if you have a potbelly poking thru
Sounds like you're projecting thoughI'm not wearing a dress lol most ppl think ur wearing some dress + most men are fat or skinny when they wear it which makes u look way less masculine, sometimes resembling women.
I was literally walking outside once with my thobe and alot of people said why am I wearing a dress? that's when I found out how feminine it looks. Its also funny how whenever you bash arab culture it equates to anti islam.Sounds like you're projecting though
Yep, its nowhere to be found but @Ibn Abdon on a mission to revive it, traditionals somali clothing has had a tough life. 1st colonialism 2nd democracy 3rd secular dictatorship 4th civil war for 30 years. So yeah its gone but its going to be revived inshaAllahModernised traditional clothes but I donβt know where it could be found
Of course their going to say that, I assume you live in America or Europe. Their not use to thobes, of course their going to make similarities to their own clothing's like dresses. You have a weak mind if you are going to let others into your head,I was literally walking outside once with my thobe and alot of people said why am I wearing a dress? that's when I found out how feminine it looks. Its also funny how whenever you bash arab culture it equates to anti islam.

Speak for yourself. The mindset that you have is already feminine, fearing what other people think rather then just wearing it. Reason why many people wear the thobe is because the Prophet wore it.I'm not wearing a dress lol most ppl think ur wearing some dress + most men are fat or skinny when they wear it which makes u look way less masculine, sometimes resembling women.
