Storytime: Got kicked out of borama for playing soccer

☼ The sun is alone but it still shines ☼
I was 12 years old and was sent to borama by my mother. And since I had to leave, I had to leave my soccer club, and I wanted to practice my skills when I went to borama since soccer is really popular there. One day, I wanted to join them and I noticed there was no women, but that didn’t matter. And when I did they started aggressively saying stuff in somali (I didn’t know somali) but I didn’t respond. I played with them until the evening, and when I was walking back I already got stares and some kids threw rocks at me. :susp: Anyways, I slept but in the middle of the night a group of men were knocking on the door and my edo answered the door, and I understood that they were looking for a girl that came from america, and my older cousin who was really tall scared them away. (The men were in their late 20s). And each day the threats were getting more serious to the point where they were going to buy a gun from what I understood. And my family had to send me to family in hargeisa for my own safety. (The threats were personal, so I won’t include them) Later on, my family in borama told me that they got robbed by those same men I played soccer with, and they had to move to a completely new house. All of that for playing soccer.:mjcry: And for the next 8 months, I was despised by the whole neighborhood. They even sent a dog after me once they heard what happened..

Maybe they just didnt have tekkers like you, You should know better than to outshine grown men as a teenage girl:mjdontkno: but interrogation and harassment seems like a bit of an overreaction

I am gadabursi myself and they gave me a hard times in borama just because im from Djibouti. I think this is a bigger community problem where they bully you even if you are from the same clan. I think reer borama are obsessed with foreigners to the point they will bully just because you are not of them.

Niggaz in Borama bullied me and tried to sell me fake watches by forces. I rejected them, they went straight tp my dad in order to reclamed money that do not even belong. My dad disapointed me and gave them the money. I was very mad because i just lost street cred just because dad wanted to be Nice. He even explain to me that they are just poorer and need the money. But that is a bad excuse. I lost street cred period.

They only scared the dog so it can get close to me, and I was terrified of dogs that time. So that scared me enough.
