He back stabbed Al Qaeda (Jabhat Al Nusrs hardcore) & IS. He isn’t on a power trip, he wants to emulate the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in terms of being restricted to Syria with no international goal. He is willing to do anything to achieve that.

He has shown himself to be a capable leader. He essentially created a fully functioning state in Idlib. This state is more of a state than SL despite being under constant threat from Assad,Iranian allies & the Russians

The Turks might smell blood and encourage their proxies (SNA etc) to assist & coordinate with the HTS (and allies). Northern Syria will become a Sunni Arab Emirate with the protection of Erdogan. Eventually if the rebels continue to be organized well, continue to innovate; they will conquer Syria over the next few years.
