Assad is a genocidal maniac, I donāt understand how you can continue to defend him without doing a little research. Did you know that at the start of the Syrian revolution, when people were protesting, he fired upon them and even released extremists he had previously imprisoned? He did this to taint the image of the revolution so it couldnāt gain international support. He loves to cry about extremists, yet he used them to his advantage whenever it suited him.The extremists running rampant in Syria are a direct result of Assad's actions. Had he stepped down and avoided using extreme measures like killing unarmed civilians to instill fear and maintain power, the situation might have been different. But he didnāt, and now it has all come back to bite him ten times worse.
Iām against HTS extremists, they splintered off from Nusra, and ideologies donāt change overnight, but that doesnāt prevent me from telling the truth about whatās happening on the ground. You can try to spin things however you like, but it doesnāt change the reality. The man you defend so passionately is losing to ragtag militias with minimal training and is being outclassed militarily. This offensive was no surprise
itās been in the works for months, it was all over the news. Some people are desperately trying to link it to Netanyahu's remarks about Assad the day before the offensive. Thatās just conspiracy theories from people who canāt come to terms with this new reality.
