This post was inspired by our sister Nafiso Qalanjo - I'm currently watching a podcast on this topic and already benefitting from the citations made of the As-Salaf. Video is below.
small percentage, they know damn well they can't say shit in real lifeTikTok is filled with those who attempt to innovate the deen.
Masha'allah walaashay. I've only been a few days but I've consistently seen you upon the Haq. Allaah haku xafidoI don't take tiktok muslims seriously. Just had an argument in the comment section with a gay muslim who said that it's not haram to be Lesbian because in the quran it doesn't mention women. She then said "lesbianism is considered to be bad but it's not a sin"
I don’t have tiktok but it’s very influential on younger ppl
Very true, only take your deen from people of Knowledge who follow the companions and the 3 rightly guided generationsTikTok is filled with those who attempt to innovate the deen.
With regard to people making things up on tiktok.
I think because religion is a such a personal thing, some people assume it has no academic/logical principles. Of course you don’t need a phd to have access to Allah, but Islam as a religion comes 1400+ years of theology and philosophy. People have dedicated their lives work to expounding the principles and concepts of Islam.
They would never dream to go up to prof Higgs and tell him ‘this is how you find the boson, I know better’, they acknowledge their limitation in worldly knowledge but are undeservedly confident when it comes to religious knowledge. With zero evidence they somehow believe they can out smart all the scholars that have come before them. It’s actually staggering how arrogant some people are.
It's fucking TikTok. Why do people expect pious people in a place where people want fame and attention. I feel the same way about most if not all social media outlets. It's just a place to have fun and see stupid stuff. If you look for piousness from them, you're kinda lost tbh.
That's definitely a fair concern. Maybe the youth should be taught about the dangers of social media to their overall psyche. Then again, it's relatively new. Doubt there's enough data to give specific advice.I'm more concerned about the millions of naive impressionable young muslims who will listen to those people

Abayo, I'm not trolling but weren't you the girl on here who was confused about her sexuality but decided she'd just not act on it because then she wouldn't go to Jahanam? Oh, no... Wait, that was Black Jack?

There was a young lady on here, abowe. She admitted to desiring other women but pointed out that if she didn't act on it then it wasn't Xaram = she would not go to Jahannam. I thought that was Asli for a second and was like "Subxanallah, abayo. Lesbianism is hot on your mind even on TikTok, I see?"
