Terrible older brother Somali edition

Her generalizing was wrong m, but whenever Somalis open up about their trauma (especially women) you lot try to downplay their experiences.
What trauma did she go through? her brother doesn’t wanna talk to her cause she’s a lesbian gaal misandrist just look at her content you will have a laugh 😂

You people are so fucking quick to call someone a gaal. Just because she doesn’t accept misogyny or doesn’t wear the hijab? Her reposts suggest otherwise btw.

Also you don’t even know the whole context as to why they stopped speaking

Same people who will cry when you even slightly question the Islam of people like Andrew Tate or other male Muslims exposed for their hypocrisy.

My bad gang you do give off female vibes. It’s probably because you’re liberal leaning & a lot more chill than the rest of the men here :mybusiness:

Personally I've only met one guy who was super controlling of his siblings. I recently found out he spent a portion of his childhood in the Gulf so Im just going to blame the Arab influence.
Arabs are more chill than most, Saudi parents let their children do whatever, even let 10yr olds drive cars, it's part of the culture to live and let live.

They were raised in the west bro. Seeing the standard of living privileged Cadaans have compared to poor minorities would definitely piss people off. In the west the best kids come from two parent middle/upper households. None of these people complaining asked to be born as well. They were given a childhood of suffering without permission.

A lot of poor kids are destined to fail. Especially if they were raised in a household without an active father figure.
Absolutely incorrect, a painful upbringing puts you ahead of the pack in life if you don't behave entitled and retarded. It's a free buff.
But most ppl are so shortsighted they can't see the positive effects.

That's a big assumption, are brothers supposed to parent their siblings?
Older siblings where the age gap is like 7-10+ years end up become secondary parents and it’s not just within Somali families

no ones downplaying it were just sick of them generalizing their family trauma to the rest of the somali community and acting like it’s caadi with everyone when thats surely not the case

They consider households as single parent homes if the father works all day and doesn't develop a relationship with his kids. So even if he theoretically isn't a deadbeat most people would still consider him a bad father. Hence why these guys are lumped in with the deadbeats.

I've said it on here before but I was genuinely surprised to see the amount of somalis complaining about deadbeat dads. It seems we have a lot of older men that wanted kids but had no interest in actually being an active father. The Somali way of raising kids doesn't work in the west.
Yep, I don’t consider parents being together to mean the mother can’t possibly be a single mother.

parents still being married doesn’t mean a child isn’t being raised in a single parent household when it comes to some Somalis.
