According to my father and yes he was apart of siyad government. The only mistake he can say with a clear conscious and regret and seeks forgiveness from the almighty(wahidka) is Puntland not assisting siyad barre defend his government. He says till this day he regrets it. That's the only reason, I don't really bash 'sade' much, trust me this shit gets passed onto the next generation from older generation so we do not make the same mistake again.

My father said the siyad barre government and MOD yes they were doing bad things but they were doing it so we can still have a government and nation hood and not be what we are today. However he said these lunatics in the south/north and he implicates both usc/snm they were planning not for nation hood but to 'wipe out' darod clans from Somalia. They began this process he said in the south and north and once the extinction process happened they would've done what they did in mogadishu, settle all their towns and districts and then create a government for somalia with hawiye and isaaq only. It wasn't even about splitting the nation he said, that came later for the SNM after the USC started to turn on themselves, the plan between HG/ISAAQ was to 'genocide' darod clans. It wasn't about being a government or any of that for Somalia.

So that is the only regret from my father was that Puntland didn't have the fortitude and foresight to defend siyad barre and save our nation from going in the hands of 'clan genociders'. Because according to my father, it's ok if you kill or even genocide clans if your protecting our nation and if that is what your objective is. But it's not ok to genocide people so you remove them from the land and then create a government. They didn't even want to dominate us as most people on forums suggest, it was a clear 'genocide' pact, it was to remove the darod clan.
