The Alcohol problem in Laascaanood is getting Bad

SSC admin need to think of a solution. This city is armed to the teeth and alcohol flows in heavy. It make me sad to see the boys the drunken Askari kill for no reason.

I won't post the guy dying on the floor but this is very sad stuff. AUN :mjcry:

It's the chaotic beginning for a new government. They'll need time to stabilise

The administration is imposing new laws regarding the arms civilians have and where and when can they use them. This maamul unlike many others out there, isn't putting its head in the sand or trying to cover up, put man up to the problem and deal with it.

They need real government.
The down side of posting this here is people like you will comment about it for fkd. SSC admin has yet to mature I’m confident that they will come up with a solution. This is a symptom of allowing the warrior class to roam around pretending to be law enforcement. Theirs a reason that military and police aren’t the same. Their jobs are very different. The alcohol certainly doesn’t help either.

The state is dependent on those characters not the other way around. Sooner or later they will realize that and take things into their own hands. In fact you could say they already are.

They were United beforehand but now there seems to be confusion between the leaders. One leader will say we are completely independent, and then another will say we are the same as PL economically. All whilst still having PL politicians representing the area in state house.

They just need another shir. Draft that constitution ASAP with the agreement of all the elders and crack on it’s been a year now

Alcohol was already a problem in that place long before the conflict which ousted SL authorities from that area and it's a general problem eastern Sanaag and Sool regions as gangs or armed men smuggle Alcohol from Ethiopia and sell it to those who want it.

It is more of a case of the local police force being effective, and incidents arising form it being reported, and documented. I do not think LA has more alcohol related incidents than Xamar, Hargeysa or Bosaso.
There's law and order in Hargeysa with active community that won't tolerate Alcohol being brought to the city and those smugglers can't carry weapon like they do in eastern sool and Sanaag to fight security officers as there's heavy presence of police and army in Hargeysa area

I would like to see security being transformed fully to newly created Khaatuumo govt instead of qabil militia roaming around the area with their guns hence why alcohol smugglers aren't afraid to do their business as they probably bribe to those militia

As for LA, its population has tripled since Aug. 2023, is still a front, and has more armed young men in and around the city, as would be expected. Ask your elders what Hargeysa was like in 1991 - 1995, and Burco, a city still divided, in 1995 - 1997.

Alcohol was readily available in the Somali lands in 2010. Marijuana less so but even soldiers smoked it. This is not a new issue.
