Look at his prodigious forehead:
Geeljires love the camera, wallahi. Always charisma-ing their way to the most unlikely of places. This is a big L for our cousins reer Middle-East, though. Bismillah.

I have no idea. It used to be quite a lot but after the recent tensions with the UAE, which was something of a hub for Somali Khaleejis, our population size has heavily contracted. There practically used to be a whole big Somali area in Souq al-Dahab in Dubai and now you just see a few eedos and adeero walking around in comparison. A lot of Khaleeji Somalis went back home or to Turkey or even the west. Many still remain but it's not what it was.@Shimbiris what's the estimated somali population in the gulf ?
3 of my fathers siblings used to live in the uae for 25+ years until their sharci expired and they ended up relocating to sweden
100-130k at the peak at around 2004-10, a lot left to Europe/NA after that. Currently it's like 80-90k probably@Shimbiris what's the estimated somali population in the gulf ?

People also went Turkey. I know of some reer UAE personally who went to Turkey but I don't think that's working out for them anymore by the looks of it.100-130k at the peak at around 2004-10, a lot left to Europe/NA after that. Currently it's like 80-90k probably
When I was a little kid from like 4-8 or so my mother owned shop in the old Souq:@Shimbiris I remember when I used to visit Dubai regularly as a child.
I remember Indian dudes in Deira screaming at me in Somali saying “kaale walaal”.
Only in the UAE do ajnabis speak Somali.
They underestimated the language barrier, I was one of them lmaoPeople also went Turkey. I know of some reer UAE personally who went to Turkey but I don't think that's working out for them anymore by the looks of it.
The best bet for somalis who don't own businesses or khaleeji sharci is to claim asylum in Europe/NA/ Australia. Getting a western visa will be hard for many. They probably use turkey to cross into Europe.People also went Turkey. I know of some reer UAE personally who went to Turkey but I don't think that's working out for them anymore by the looks of it.
I thought you were reer Europe/UK. Are you a khaleeji geeljirre ?They underestimated the language barrier, I was one of them lmao

There were A LOT of Somali shop owners and business people back then and this one South Indian looking fella apparently did a lot of business with them and learned pitch perfect native level Somali. When I first heard him as a kid I was like "0______0" and kept acting so fucking fascinated and asking him to speak to me. I even kept dragging him around to various Somalis and asking him to show them how well he spoke the Af. I was so shook.
Do you still live in turkey. I haven't worried much about the language barrier as there are so many tourist and immigrants in Istanbul and Antalya. I guess I'll have to learn some Turkish to survive over there. What were your obstacles besides the language barrier if you don't mind ?all 3, i'm a propa nomad

Damn. I'll give Duolingo a try to learn some of the basics of TurkishBro I’m there right now on vacation.
You better brush up on whatever Turkish you know. Next to no one speaks English here.
What in the name of the lord? Next to no one, you say? Are they like the Japanese? A minority of educated professionals and academics knowing English and most other people knowing nothing but Turkish, or in the east, Turkish and Kurdish? Are they that insular?Bro I’m there right now on vacation.
