The bond between Language and Islam

One thing about Af-Maay though is that it is moving in the direction of standard Somali (Maxa).

Af-Maay of the 1800s was more of a true different language. The Af-Maay of today has shifted closer to regular Somali.

I notice the same pattern in minority languages in Europe. Today they are heavily creolized with the standard language of their country (think of Basque, Breton, Frisian, Catalan etc).
If you go to Baidoa and speak Af Maxaa, you will get blank faces. Even if it's shifted closer to Maxaa, Af-Maay is still largely unintelligible.

The schools all across Somalia should only teach in Af Maxaa, we already have clan divisions, a linguistic and (eventually) ethnic one will make Somalia much more volatile than it already is.

:mjlol: i run into some interviews and programs in Arabic and Somali...
It somehow it irritates the fock out of me.. when i hear the interviewer or interviewee ... that dont speak English at all..but he/she forces broken English within his/her speech..they look and sound ridiculous..to look educated and developed..specially i noticed Arabs and Indians do it alot..
It shows inferiority

I rarely see it with in Somali..
I personally when i speak Arabic better than Arabs them self..and i never insert or force foreign words to it
In Somali i do my best not to insert foreign words..but im sure with practice i can articulate my self with pure Somali no foreign words

There is a Dajjalic project to destroy certain types of languages around the global. There are predictions made for 2100 regarding how many languages will have become extinct in this century. Many see this as only a form of a global power just exercising its strength over weaker nations. We only see this from an Economic perspective

One thing that we can observe is the behavioural difference between different cultures through language. Language is father of culture. The properties of a language define and shape a culture. Cultures don't emerge from nowhere.

For example, all Monethiesm is linked to Afro Asiatic languages. The major books of Wahi are in Semitic languages. These languages have properties that does not exist in other languages. Also you will find that certain concepts do not exist in certain languages, thereby making influence your worldview

There is a reason why certain groups of people accept Islam while others do not. Somalis embracing Islam is smoothly and quickly comes as no surprise. Af Somali as a language is so deeply embedded with Deen today and even before Islam, with Monotheism. Other languages hardly mention God, and makes it learner individualistic. You will see the better Af Somali a person speaks, the more social they Are. The concept of qabil dies if Af Somali dies. Abtirsi is another concept that they want gone from this world but I'll touch on that another time. Af Somali changes and impacts your personality and so do other languages

The way Allah swt describes himself in the Qur'an can not be done in any language other than the Qur'an. Languages like English and other European languages makes one steer towards godlessness, individualism and other disorders

By removing languages that remind ppl of Allah swt and replacing with languages of Godless ppl, you can uproot Islam.
Why not just learn arabic?

Somali needs to be standardised and codified, with a single dialect being pushed.

Italy once had many dialects (which could be argued to be different languages) yet Tuscan Language became the standard one post unification.

Many people have language envy over Arabic. They always ask why Arabic.

Many people have been raised above you, language is the same.

Arabic has its unique properties and Qur'anic Arabic is very beautiful

Most scriptures were in Hebrew but it doesnt make it superior

No. No one knows but we know that Allah swt taught Adam the names of everything and language

Since we will resemble Adam in Jannah, we will probably speak the original Adamic language but Allah swt knows best
That’s a big assumption.

To be honest, the Somali language as it is needs a better-written form and needs to be improved. Everyone writes it in their own way, there's no standard for it to be held to.

Also, (and without sounding like a Nazi) Af Maay is going to be a massive problem in Somalia.
The French have their own council pertaining to the French language (« l'académie française ») and I think it'd be very helpful if Somali had its own council if it doesn't exist already. It would definitely help in the way of standardising the language, grammar etc.

Because Af Maxaa (the standard Somali) and Af Maay (Mainly spoken in the South by Raxanweyne) are 2 different languages essentially. I can't understand it, and Af Maay speakers don't understand me. This will cause a huge problem in terms of communication.

Also since Af Maay speakers are growing in terms of population, this will continue to exacerbate the situation.
I think the default language in classes should be Af Maxaa and them Af Maay should be taught as a second language so we have the whole population speaking a standard language but the second language doesn't become extinct

The French are scared of English domination.

Rightfully so, English is creeping into the tongues of every country. I think avoiding loan words from English or making words for new things/ideas out of existing words will preserve the language.
