So apparently when the Noobin speakers reached modern day Nubia, they encountered Cushitic speaking populations but the loanwords in Noobin has an Eastern Cushitic substratum and not Northern Cushitic.

What do you guys think?

There is also a Somali-Rendille linguistic substratum in some Nilotic languages. Since those words and root forms are not from South Cushitic or even Oromo, the assumption is that the proto-Sam-Rendille could have been penetrated much further South and West than we thought .

Somali Y-Lineages and mtDNA markers are found in Kenyan Bantus. They cucked proto-Somalis in that region for sure.

One study claims that there is a Somali-substratum in some Northern Uganda Nilotic languages. There are also some Cushitic Neolithic rock paintings down there . I think the wandering proto-Somalis were wiped out by the Oromo, Bantu and Nilotic invasions. The Baiso were probably a proto-Somali folk before the Oromos started to migrate from their mountain caves. Baiso also has a Somali substratum .

# I am going to pour some of this Costa Coffee for the proto-Somali.

Haplogroup T is even found in Ugandan Nilotes, lol.. at very low levels. But Cushites must have visited it.

Uganda is actually not that far from Somalia.. only like a day's drive.

Both of you missed the consequences of the hypothesis in question.

Since the Nubian language has a very strong Eastern Cushitic substratum, this means that it was Eastern Cushites who inhabited the lower Nile Valley.

I found it very interesting that the Nubian speakers had a more pronounced interaction with Eastern Cushites than Northern Cushites.

They should do more ancient genome studies on the Horn. Since it's so dry, it should yield good ancient genomes.

Only way to solve the puzzle of when Cushites showed up.

How would that make a distinction between Northern and Eastern Cushites though?

Eastern Cushites aren't homogenous though. Sidamas and those near them have high Omotic input. And there are semi-Nilotes (Daasanach, Rendille) in this group as well.
