The English Kings who almost converted to Islam

This story is likely a myth but the King John (who was forced to accept the Magna Carta which limited Kings rights) was rumored to have almost converted Islam and sworn allegiance to the Caliph. He allegedly sent an emissary to Morocco to get military aid in exchange for converting.

There's also King Henry the 2nd who threatened the pope that he would rather convert to Islam and become an infidel than have the then head of the Canterbury cathedral continue in his role as archbishop.
