The man who composed the Somalia anthem (Qolobaa calankeed) was from west Burco

Hassan Sheikh Mohamud government adopted Qolobaa calankeed composed by Qarshe (west Burco)
back in 2012 as the official anthem of Somalia and scrapped Soomaaliyeey Toosoo composed by
Ali Mire Awale (Darood).

If i am not mistaken ali mire song was composed during the time somalis gained independence while abdillahi qorshe song was heesta calanka

But during siyaad barre time the anthem was a song praising him and his government

song in 1947 while Qolobaa Calankeed is from 1959.

Soomalia toosay use to be the anthem between 2000- 2012. Since 2012 though Qolobaa calankeed is the official anthem of Somalia.
