You people are really naive neefs.migration has been happening for the best 25 years . It is nothing new.there are more opportunities in the west than anywhere in Somalia .that is the simple reason for tahriib .the difference today is that many countries have stopped generous Somali refugee settlement programmes and that Libya has essentially collapsed ,causing many too chance their luck across the Mediterranean . Most people in Somalia live off a relative living abroad . This has created a system whereby people are dependent on the diaspora -from doctors ,to school ,to weddings ,to you name it .tahriib is the like the American Dream ;it is a chance to go and be like that person that feeds you .young people doing Tahriib are simply chasing free education ,hospitals and security . To paint their journey as merely being motivated by social media pics and relatives building houses ,is a geat injustice .
