If this desertification issue is not dealt with soon then it could trigger mass migration in Africa.
In the video, he stated -300 million people will be living in the Sahel in the next 3 decades. If the Sahara swallows up the Sahel then we could potentially witness people from that area mass migrating northwards or further southwards. The one time I appreciate already living in a desert hellhole
US population level migration is scary af, this tree plan better be done by 2030.In the video, he stated -300 million people will be living in the Sahel in the next 3 decades. Not in this case because Sahara desert is too big but reversing desertification is possibleDo you believe this can be reversed?
YepCould this happen in Somalia ?
it would only immediately affect west Africa, northern central African and the sudan. In the video, he stated -300 million people will be living in the Sahel in the next 3 decades. No way. The Ethiopian highlands get wayy too much rainfall for a desert to ever reach SomaliaHe's too generous with that map. Somalia may as well be part of the Sahara. Most of our land is almost as bad.
But most of Somalia is just dry land...No way. The Ethiopian highlands get wayy too much rainfall for a desert to ever reach Somalia
Not desert tho, atleast yet. If we can plant trees in mass all over the country we can easily reverse it, our land is dry not desert. Southern maroodi jeex, awdal and parts of togdhere as well as all of south Somalia can host massive agricultural produce as most of this land is already permanent pastureBut most of Somalia is just dry land...
