Those among the Dir that carry the haplogroup T. Bal read this:

The earliest recorded ancestor of the Al Saud was Mani' ibn Rabiah Al-Muraydi who settled in Diriyah in 1446–1447 with his clan, the Mrudah.[9] Although the Mrudah are believed to be descended from the Rabi'ah tribal confederation, it is unclear whether they trace their ancestry to the Banu Hanifa or the 'Anizzabranches of the Rabi'ah.[9] Mani was invited by a relative named Ibn Dir.

Somali Dir 12-markers: 13 23 15 10 13-16 11 12 11 14 14 29

These markers are remarkable similar. They indubitably share a common ancestry! However, I don't know if the "ibn Dir" in question has anything to do with the Dir as in the Somali one. Perhaps they're etymologically derived from the same root indicating a common ancestor. Who knows.

12 STRs are meaningless, you need a SNP analysis to confirm recent origins.

I highly doubt they have the same subclade. They could be unrelated for 8,000 years.

What a killjoy you are m8. :ivers:

Entertaining the thought is quite funny tbh. It's still not something that's improbable though. Both parties will need to take a 37+ markers test to come to a definitive conclusion.
