The “future industrial superpowaah” doesnt have the second and third biggest cement factory??

I’m not believing anything until I see it. These guys specifically can’t build a tree let alone a factory they don’t have the mental capacity for it

War is coming.
@Garaad Awal ’s tribesmen would rather steal money than complete a project. They couldn’t even build the Berbera corridor 💀 this is all foreign money too.
What we do with Berbera is none of your concern. We see full well what Gaajo Yoonis & Habar Xabusheed can accomplish when they are majority like shithole Burco & Ceerigaabo. Berbera is an HA city and HA cities of Berbera,Hargeisa, Gabiley & Wajaale will always be superior to Gaajo Yoonis & Habar Xabusheed shitholes

The biggest cement factory pre-civil war used to be located in Berbera. During the war, mooriyaan in SL sold the cement factories equipment to Ethiopians who took it to their homeland for pennies on the dollar to open a new factory to build their country :faysalwtf:

He got my hopes up mannn 💀 SL has been an absolute failure in developing its industries. Years ago I lamented about SL not building the cement factory in Berbera so they could profit from the construction boom in the region

hopefully they’re serious this time around

Good News, I believe there is one from the kacaan era around that area also. I wonder if their using that site or if its a new one.
Also every somali city should have a concrete plant, their relatively easy to make and will lower the cost of development. Somalia also has all the materials needed. I wonder if they will be making the cement in house too, probably...

Berbera has limestone deposits I don't think every region has limestone deposits that are suitable for cement.

I'm in the country right now industry is strong just customers outside it's borders is low. As you enter Berbera from both sides it's just warehouse everywhere.

The closure laascaanood route to the rest of Somalia has affected allot. As the shortcut through hawd to beledweyne takes time.

This is what was PLs goal stoke tribal tensions destroy SL trade

I did some more research on this project, I was going to ask who ina aw said is but just decided to find it myself. His full name is mohamed said guedi, he is the owner of MSG group of companies

It is based in Dubai and is involved in multiple sectors which include trading. It started off as an import export business in the 80s focused on tobacco and built on that. He expanded into other sectors, like logistics services, telecommunications, construction...

He has grown his wealth and has lots of connections too.
This cement plant is his latest venture, going under the name Horn Cement this project started around 2022 not sure.
There was an Italian article on their website (horncements.com) that wrote a section about their project.

The cement plant will cost 60 million dollars
It will produce 1.2 million tons of cement per year
Bedeschi - also a manufacturing company is involved.
But I also see that Chinese Sinoma Comapany is involved.
Theres not much information about the project really, most of the information is probably confidential.
But on facebook I did see an old post where they (Msg, Horn Cement) signed a memorandum of understanding with the chinese Sinoma company. Its a chinese state run cement company so they have loads of expertise.
So my theory is its mostly funded by MGS group (Aw Said) with additional investment from bedeschi, and they contracted Chinese Sinoma company to build and engineer the plant.
The plants location is 10.40779, 45.02561, construction seems to have begun early 2024 late 2023 and is starting to wrap up around now. Which aligns with their plans of finishing this plant in 2024.

I heard berbera is a special economic zone, they built a massive port there too so its good businesses are taking advantage. But I wonder if the agreement is fair.
