The minister of finance, Dr. Beyle called the Islamic bank to use its capacity to establish a fund for reconstruction and rehabilitation in Somalia.
Billy said during the annual meeting of the bank in jeddah on Wednesday (17 may 2017): Somalia was destroyed, but now it is trying to rise again after many years of chaos.
The Somali minister stressed that his country needed to build integrated financial operations systems. The building of these systems needs one-time boost, which is a formidable challenge, and therefore we need the support of the international community, particularly the Islamic bank who understands more than others the challenges we are facing.
He stressed that the new Somali government led by President Mohamed Abdullahi provide focused on combating corruption, strengthening institutional and human capacities, economic development and good governance.
The achievement of the priorities established by the government of his government to rebuild somalia required sustained and long-term financing, and the exemption from national debt amounting to $ 5 billion.
