The Somali Living Room and Kitchen in Film and TV?

The American living room and kitchen has been adequately invented and portrayed by shows like The Simpsons, Family Man, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Friends, My Wife and Kids etc. Now that there is a big increase in film and tv-productions in Somalia, I have been wondering what would be a great embellishment of the quintessential Somali Living Room and Kitchen?

Mind you, what ever is universally decided upon by Somali creatives would eventually be mass adopted by Somali families in the big cities, especially the women would be influenced by these upcoming shows when deciding what sort of furniture they want in their homes. A lot of new furniture stores, housing multiple different styles, have also opened in Mogadishu, Hargeisa and other major cities, so I’m thinking something along the lines of this would be great;

We need to invest in our craftspeople most stores just import straight from Turkey or wherever there's not much traditional Somali aesthetics at all

Cannes Film Festival recently selected a film produced and shot in Somalia for their line up. Good days ahead for Somali cinema;

(of-course one of those dark nasty nitties is in the comments of that tweet)

I think the Moroccan Majlis is closer to our aesthetic in a number of ways and also beautiful.

I can imagine a renovated palace of the Sultan of Hobyo looking like a bit like this just substitute the details for Somali stuff.

In other words, low-lying furniture covered with Allindi style covers, high ceilings, dark-stained handcrafted wooden cupboards and tables. some scenic Somali landscape paintings, etc

I think Somali cinema has the potential to blow up internationally. Arday was a great show in my opinion.
