I wanted to make a thread on this for a while now because I did a lot of research. I did a thread years ago explaining where we came from, and I still believe in my theory. This will be about who the biblical Cushites are.
Cush was the son of Ham. He had sons:
Nimrod
Seba
Havilah
Raamah
Sabtah
Sabtechah
My perspective is that we are the sons of Havilah, son of Cush and Joktan. And this thread will explain why, via process of elimination.
Nimrod was a person who made the Sumerian civilization or Babylon. Not much to explain here.
Cush is based on the Kingdom of Kush. The Greeks called them Ethiopia. So Sudan is the real Ethiopia, not the modern nation, which is really Abyssinia.
Seba is described as very dark and tall people. To me, these are the Nilotic people.
I do not know who the sons of Sabtah and Sabtechah are. There's not much stated.
Raamah's son Sheba and Havilah are also the sons of Joktan, son of Shem. Remember this, this will be important.
Raamah had two sons, Dedan and Sheba. Dedan and Sheba mixed with the Joktan line of Sheba, and they were the original Arabs, before Ishmael's line (where the Prophet pbuh descents from).
We know Raamah then is aligned with the middle east, not Africa. Between Sudan and the Middle East is either Egypt or the Horn of Africa.
Egypt is Mizraim, son of Ham. So they cannot be Havilah.
Somalis, and those similar to us, like the Oromo have around 40% autosomal DNA related to the Levant Natufians. And 60% from Nilo-Saharans.
What if the 40% is Joktan and the 60% is Cush?
The Table of Nations is based on what the Hebrews saw. So if Havilah is connected to both Shem and Cush, like Raamah but not Seba, then it makes sense.
A pure Cushite would be Nilotic.
So why are Somalis called Cushites? Because of the Hamitic Hypothesis. To create a connection between Europeans and Africa to justify colonial rule, they've removed the consideration of Nilotic people as Cushites.
