If Somaliland was under Somalia we would have had better infrastructure, somewhat better economy, would have been the nr1 state in Somalia etc.

Recognition won’t ever be an option as long as these leaders are corrupt and incompetent and the fact that the UN has one rule which is that they don’t endorse the separation of members states

The leaders should be up front with the situation and focus their time on developing the country even though we don’t get as much aid money as Xamar we got enough money for development purposes but the reality is that the leaders don’t have vision nor any goals everybody even the people are lying to themselves

People are usually chosen by their education do they possess the right skills for the work at hand but in Somaliland it’s all about your clan even in the work force people have been turned down jobs all solely on their clan

Im Isaaq myself and personally I think clans is the reason we haven’t come far we could achieve much much more in 30 years we would have people who are well equipped for the political positions, we would have accountability, structure and everybody would be an individual and would be dealt with as such

But unfortunately clan mindset is so deep rooted in Somaliland where people will defend or even hide a murderer cause they share the same qabiil ir even worse politicians can be not found guilty of corruption cause they’re clansmen will be the one to defend their actions

I think as long as things are like this recognition won’t come and it surely isn’t the solution to Sonalilands issues even if we did get recognition whose to say the leaders won’t benefit from it more than the people

What makes you think we wouldn't, for many years we have been isolated because of the fact that we are separatists. If we were under Somalia the isolation would not be an issue.

We would have accesss to so much more through Mogadishu.

You do realize we would have more access to aid, entering into more deals than we have today.

Look at Somaliland unrecognized and we Puntland are trying their best to keep up lol.
