This is an intelligent way in which somaliland forces the residents to become part of somaliland. By forcing them to use somaliland currency ,which has little to no recognition,it causes Las caanod to be in the hargeisas economic sphere of influence.
Furthermore this has a psychological impact on the people of the area. The children will become more tied to the notion of somaliland until they become a mini hargeisa . Thus the generation growing up in las caanod will have a somaliland mindset which will eventually void any ties to "Somalia".
So far I think this is working well for somaliland. Puntland has done a similar method in badhan and laas Qoray however not to the same effect. Somaliland even has a budget for propaganda.

Ye but I think the dhulos in las caanod and the areas clos to there are becoming pro somaliland. The propaganda works well in the cities, in he country side it's different..
There's many warsengeli and dhulbhante that are pro somaliland unlike somaliland Puntland doesn't require warsengeli & dhulbhante land for recognition because even without there land Puntland still fulfills the criteria for a federal state which states in the Federal constitution 2 gobol iyo wax ka badan whereas somaliland it's imperative for them to have dhulbhante & warsengeli in order to get icitiraaf.
