No phoenicians were traders who set colonies along the mediterranean coast. Spain and morocco had their own native inhabitants.

On the other hand phoenicians made it all the way to great britain 3000 years ago. The word gorilla is phoenician meaning hairy people which they used to describe great apes they thought were humans on the coast of south west africa. Phoenician are said to have circumnavigated the african continent but their writing is lost and we only know about this thanks to greek writers who had access to these writings.
