Thomas Friedman of Nytimes mentions Somalia in relation to Syria

Foreign nations sponsoring proxy wars/insurgencies and directly intervening/invading to dismantle a government and try to impose a government from the outside afterwards, doesn't mean those governments failed at self governing themselves or failed to mange their own pluralities.

If you left Yemen, Libya, Syria, Iraq, Sudan, Lebanon and Somalia alone they would peacefully govern themselves and go through effective transitions and regime changes. Many of them already had done so in the past and they have extensive history being able to create social contracts with each-other that allowed for cooperation and growth.

So it's complete nonsense framing, but not really surprised to see this take by the NY-times they literally act like a US/Zionist propaganda arm and have biased reporting when it comes to Muslim countries/Middle Eastern conflicts.
