Xawaash are well known. I think they're Reer Baraawe. They have a really popular Somali food blog with pretty much all the best known Somali dishes. Xawaash.com

Once you go Somali, wey kuu dhamaatay!

Somali food is the worst invention ever, Pasta wait Italians invented it, bariis nope Asians did, oh wait canjeelo, nope Habeshis knew it way before us, camel meat? Nope Arabs ate it before us, xalwa? No Arabs also knew it before us. Wait wtf did Somalis invent when it comes to food?

They have a great collection of recipes honestly it's the best source for recipes. His food will turn out great and he can tweak the flavour by using a different xawaash. I have 4 different xawaash at home. Bariis, buskeeti, baasto and general masala one for misc dishes. I noticed they're not keen on cooking with ginger or using bay leaves. They also use parsley in the place of qabsare which is more middle eastern.

@Idol pasta was invented by the Chinese, it's just Italian noodles. Camels were first domesticated by us, Arabs didn't even know how to look after them. Canjeero is Somali the xabesha are the late comers. Cajiin is the batter - canjeero is the product. Rice grows it's not made but yeah we got it from South East Asia like the rest of the planet.

Kkkkkkk he's drinking the food with wine.

The cadaans love Somali food. There is this Somali restaurant just steps away from a university in Edmonton and I shit you not, it has become the go to place for the cadaans and Asians and the white washed Indians and token black kids.

They get large delicious meals for $12 with unlimited drinks. That place is packed with non Somali students from 11 to 2. And adult cadaans or white washed people go there afterwards for dinner. That place gets more non Somali customers than Somalis.

Haha. Fair play to this guy. He's gonna seduce a lot of Xalimos for sure. Lol

This cultural appropriation needs to stop before it's too late. Next thing you know, he'll develop his skills and take over Somali cuisine.

kkkk chill he's not becoming somali, he was jus bored. He's just a smart and really open minded cadaan guy. Cool guy, I'm glad he's my boy. Actually his whole family is really cool. His brother owns a multi-million dollar start up in Silicon Valley and his sister works at CERN down in switzerland as a physicist on the Large Hadron Collider project.
