whats your view of tribalism and racism difference?

my view is that tribalism/qabyaalad is the old current RACISM! because when we were one race we used tribalism to discriminate eachother.
this explains why tribalism isnt seen as destructive than racism and is harder to eradicate as it runs in our genes!
but tribalism is more potent and powerful than racism. you wont care much about injustice to your cadaan/madow fellow but when it comes to your fellow reer hebel hell breaks loose and the whole reer goes to war! impressive!
also i think tribalism is why somali society is very close tight knit and harder to colonize or rule easily.

Tribalism is backward it causes divisions and teaches the young generation to hate another Somali because he/she don't belong into the same clan. Racism and tribalism is under the same bracket, we need to abolish tribalism cos Somalia won't go forward if we don't work together as a unit.

I agree that tribalism is ridiculous, there's a clip on youtube of a citizen in Hargeisa speaking in public saying
" He who loves Habar Jeclo, God loves him, and He who hates Habar Jeclo, is a Gaal"

That there is an example of regressive tribalism that can lead to violence, I disagree however with the notion that we somehow must eradicate the identity of tribes and clans themselves. Clans and tribes are intertwined with the Somali identity, this idea is delusional and only exists with a minority amongst the diaspora, who themselves are a minority when compared to the general Somali population.

Clans and tribes are here to stay, fanatic tribalism has to go.

No dictator can imprison a population forever.
The civil war has not helped matters in terms of tribalism. People clinged to their clans even more and depend on them for protection. Many also depend on their clan members and family for remittances. Almost ever Somali is sending money back to someone back home. The solution is to take that dependence away from the clan and put in in to institutions and the state. People will slowly move away from clans only when they have little need of it in their daily lives.

I'm not a practicing qabiilist myself and I don't see any good gained from unnecessary quarrels over tribalism. However, there are a majority of users on here who would convert to Qabiilism in a heart beat, if it was an actual religion. This is because they suffer from a serious superiority complex :ayaanswag:
