looking dodgy for trump, if this is true (and this poll is pretty reliable) not only does that mean iowa goes blue but we could also see other the dems gaining in other red states. iowa voted trump in 2016 and 2020 and obama in 08 and 2012.

i still think trump is gonna pull it off in the end, and even if he loses the GOP isn't going to be "normal" for a while. but still this is quite surprising to me

Sxb this polls are fabricated by Kemala team. Iowa is farming state Trump has that in the bag
vance and RFK are platforming the nutrition issue. it's a noble goal that i agree with but iowa is synonymous with corn. these guys make money off of peddling poisonous junk food so i can see their opposition to such rhetoric

I still think Trump will win Iowa but who knows anything can happen.

Idk man all the likely voter polls have been iffy but at least this one is going against the herd. If you look there is no dems crossing over to vote for trump which happened in 20’ and 16’. The education gap is also massive in this poll showing about +30 among college educated voters going for Harris which is California levels. In 2020, the exit polls showed a +7 for Biden. If this poll is right, it means that this one of the largest subgroup shifts in election history. Idk if abortion can influence a shift like that in a state that voted for Trump in 2020 and seems to have embraced republican populism but I guess we will see

with iowa it's probably more to do with agriculture. import tarrifs + vance/RFK health guru wing of the trump side which is anti-corn

Yeah but that’s not what’s driving her lead in this poll. It’s college educated people particularly women who are giving her the edge in this poll.

Family farmers in Iowa were pissed off by the Trump administration. Farm bankruptcies increased during his term. Direct farm aid increased every year Trump held office and in 2020, most of the $32 billion aid he promised for American farmers went to large conglomerates. The tariffs he placed also killed the soybean market.

There’s no significant college educated class in Iowa (hehe), so that’s probably the main reason as to why Republicans there are jumping ship. There’s a couple of other factors, especially those little stories that emotionally impacted the entire state. Like the Tyson Foods factory that closed after 60 years in Perry, Iowa, which employed a fourth of the town.
