Turkey has positioned itself to be a powerful nato member politically and militarily, however not economically. Somalia couldn’t ask for a better ally. UAE can’t say anything to turkey if it decides to make to make somalia the strongest country in Africa, because of their nato membership.

Turkey’s vision for Somalia is to make it the best possible place it can be for all Somalis. They just don’t like having their allies bicker with each other. Like Somalia and Ethiopia. Turks can’t have either one collapsing, as they want to make Somalia a key player in the region and Ethiopia is one their main contributors in Africa economically.

So the Somali government went in with two stances, one being that Somalia’s sovereignty is non negotiable and that any negotiations regarding the coast must follow UNCLOS with FGS according to cali balcad and Daud Aweis. From the communique it is apparent that Somalia achieved both of these and will be overseeing all meticulous details regarding what Ethiopia gets

so here’s the official rights UNCLOS of landlocked states (Ethiopia) and transit states (Somalia) in depth . I’m reading these over multiple times myself currently to absorb it.
