Kids here acting all tough by opposing any talks with FGS as if their worthless opinions matter. Their illegitimate foreign minister Sacad Cali Shire was begging the FGS to reopen the talks last October. Jeegaan republic will never happen.... It's a fantasy and sci-fi movie with diabolical ending.

@Crow @Rocca Littorio why do you want SL to talk to Somalia but didn’t puntland just ban the fed gov from coming to puntland. How about first fix your confused understanding of federalism and talk to your own government in xamar before caring bout if SL wants to talk to Somalia or not

If anyone is confused about federalism its SL.

SNM's leaders wanted SL to be a federal state within Somalia but Kahin, Siilaanyo and his gullible Somalilanders have confused that for complete ictiraaf.

:wtfdis: How are we waiting for Somalia to develop. We don't give a f*ck if it develops or not we can stay in this de facto state if we want.

De Facto states are technically treasonous as they're citizens of a state while undermining it by proclaiming another one.

If Somalia develops/beats AS and SL continues to remain De Facto, then you are literally asking for to be militarily humiliated

Somalilanders are not smart.

There is no gain or benefit entering into talks with Somalia.

Yes there is.

Face it, Somaliland will not remain a break-away state forever.

The minute AS is defeated, the military will turn towards Hargeisa.

No-one is going to interfere because Somaliland is considered to be inside Somalia.

You know yourself, there would be war before SL "joins" and it would further divide us.

It is believed that it will take generations before the issue with instability to be resolved in Somalia.

Do you think Somaliland will not take precautions and plan ahead?

Yes there would be war and if civilians die, its Somaliland's fault.

You had 27 years to talk to Somalia for a deal but you remained madax-adeeg.

The minute AS is finished, Somaliland is finished, violently or peacefully.

You seem to think it will end soon, didn't a UN representative say it will take generations before alshabab is dealt with?

During that generation, you can expect Somaliland to gear up and get a stronger military.

With UAE having a 100 million dollar military base in Berbera opening in June, we can expect help with equipment and training.

If you think a war with Somaliland will be like in the 80's and the 90's you are wrong.

The nerve, the audacity saaxib... Somalia is the one who has gone back on all deals made with Somaliland mediated by the Turks.

You got this wrong, it's not Somaliland who is madax adeeg it's Somalia :williamswtf:

Somalia holds the cards, saxiib.

Ictiraaf is at our discretion. No-one will give Somaliland recognition unless we give it first, that's general international practice.

If Somaliland wants independence they have to be honest and say that they just want an Isaaq state instead of this British border BS.

No one is going to arm a pseudo-state to be stronger than its parent nation.

The UAE is investing in Berbera because its opposite Yemen.

It will take generations for the population to be deradicalised but AS will be militarily defeated in a handful of years. They'll still bomb Xamar once in blue moon but will hold no territory.

Yeah, I mean Somalia is so powerful that even the UN and Arab League gave them a cold shoulder regarding their concerns on Somaliland. Powerful set of cards...

There are leaders that are not Isaaq, this is your opinion.. Majority of Somaliland is isaaq so, it's not surprising you feel that way.

It's nice that you are that optimistic because the government doesn't yet control the entire capital..

1. The fate of Somaliland's recognition is with Somalia. This has been said since 1991. If SL didn't get ictiraaf then, it ain't getting it now.

2. A lot of Somalilanders in SL do not care about Somalia or SL and Somaliland denies their rights by clamping down on free speech about Somalia or Kulmiye. All you can listen to in SL is propaganda.

3. Mogadishu is controlled by FGS but AS has a presence. That will be the same for the entire nation by 2023.

Somalia is already a weak state military-wise, they can enforce very little on Somaliland. Their arms-embargo still stands and Somaliland through the UAE can find a way to bypass it. It doesn't take much for a state to be stronger than Somalia military-wise lol.

Here's an article on how Somalia calls on UN action regarding UAE military base in Somaliland. You can try to dismiss this but this is reality saaxib. With training comes, equipment and funding.

The UAE began construction of the base last year, under an agreement with officials in Somaliland, a northern region of Somalia that self-declared independence from the latter in 1991 following a civil war.

Earlier this month, the UAE said it would train Somaliland security forces, including the police and the military, as part of the deal.

The UN cannot deal with Somaliland because it is Somalia's responsibility.

The UAE is giving some training to SL while they provide heavy military equipment, vehicles and training to Somalia at the same time.

SL is a necessary base for UAE not one that they wanted to invest in.

UAE actually ended all military training in southern Somalia when they protested the DP World etc. The base being built in Berbera is 100 million dollar military facility you cannot confuse it for the small camp they had in Mogadishu.

The reason Somalia is concerned is because of the dangerous precedent where they have trained and funded thousands of foreign troops in Eritrea.

There they built a similar base to the one that is being built in Berbera and Eritrea was also under arms-embargo. From the UN-monitors themselves:

They said it “could be reasonably determined” that foreign support for the construction of permanent military installations in Eritrea constitutes the provision of technical assistance, training, financial and other assistance to military activities, which is banned under the arms embargo.

The UAE has also trained 4,000 Yemeni fighters in Assab, Eritrea.
