Let us be honest, the US wasn't honest in its fight against Al-Shabab,I doubt that the US was entirely motivated to create long lasting peace in Somalia so their presence in Somalia was unnecessary and counter productive.
I think that instead of blindly giving money to the government in hopes that they will use it for good, the right approach would be to put money into the right places directly i.e. military, industry, infrastructure(like Turkey is currently doing) etc.
As long as the Somali government is weak, corrupt and infltrated by Al Shabaab minions stability can never be achieved in Somalia. The government has no means to protect its sovereignty and has failed to control Banadir region yet alone alone the whole south.
Do you think the US withdrawals will motivate A.S attacks on civilians and the incompetent 1 KM square of government in Villa Somalia?
