Yep. It's a matter of WHEN and it has been like this for 30 years.
Forget it bro, the only chance somaliland has of getting recognized is if you have a deal with Somalia and the FGS agrees to a peaceful separation. The chances of SL being recognized without Somalia's approval are low. You had your best chances in the early 90s and early 2000s. Now the IC doesn't want more border troubles in Africa

Well they shouldn't get upset. If your goal is recognition then having a few deals with arabs and taiwan isn't going to change much.
If the Uae wanted to recognize you they could have done that a long time ago, but the emirates have no intention of doing that. Why would they cause international trouble by recognizing you when they can do businesses with you without officially considering SL as an independent country?

Nobody is talking about reunification. Personally i think somaliland is gone for good. It's you guys who need recognition not us. It would be better if you started talking with the FGS to negotiate full independence so we can end this thing, but your leaders decided they like the status quo
