Unpopular Opinions: Somali Edition (Weather thats from Back Home or The Diaspora) (Revamped Version)

What are your unpopular opinions on them? I’ll go first:
-Somalis on the internet need to get rid of that generalization mindset since it’s really not what they think it seems, That mindset only adds fuel to gender/diaspora/qabiil wars on the net.
-Western Somalis need to stop referring to Somalis back home as “Fobs”, just refer to them as locals. (Just save that for the ones that arrive in the west.)
-When local Somalis arrives in the west, they work their ass off and achieve a lot of greatness in the span of 5 years and have a much better work ethic/hustle mentality than some Somalis who were born and raised in the west.
-Somalis who grew up around barely any Somalis have a much interesting story than Somalis who grew up around many Somalis.
-Somalis need to realize that a 9-5 isnt the only way to make money since there are many different ways when it comes to making money, especially in this day and age.
-Somalis need to drop Baasto/Bariis to fix their diet and they also need to hit the gym to get better gains.
-Faraxs should look after themselves, they cant just sit around to be lazy and think that their Hooyos will always clean for them.
-Somalis need to understand that just because a farax has a certain type of hairstyle, that does not determine his morality since hairstyle ≠ character.

Alot of thse "Ayrab" loanwords are not that pervasive in Af soomaali, so theres no point unless u want to make a new word for every loanword. But i agree abt khamis u got faraxs dressing like khaleeji when there is plenty of somali clothing

Khamis is nice but its not our culture. But if u have no issue with suits, there shouldnt be issue with Khamis. Me personally id rather to wear other things. But if i have nothing else to wear to friday prayer i will take a black clean khamis for the convenience

The majority of Arab loanwords have an original Soomaali variant e.g. Wajiga -> Foosha (Face)

Another unpopular opinion is that Somali uncles fumbled in the West. Instead of becoming Uber drivers, they should've learnt a trade and done that. Whether it's plumbing, construction, or electricity, there's more opportunity for you to make much more money and potentially buy a house in cash.

Idk about the West, but trust me, it's an entirely different story in Somalia. From young, they teach children that showing their hair is the worst sin ever. When diaspora women post themselves in Xamar with some hair slipping out of their hijab, they get hundreds of “is astur” comments.
