False. Historical evidence shows Bantus reached modern day aoith africa by the 4-5th century AD or possibly even earlier. Bantus lived in Southafrica at least 1200 years before whites came. The apartheid regime invented a false narrative in which they said the land was empty but that's not true

Could it be that it is regionally disproportionate? Some areas can undergo increased levels of criminality and unrest while the trend is going down for the better in others. South Africa is, after all, the most unequal country by the measure of the Gini index. It wouldn’t be strange to see that correlate to other aspects relating to all human affairs qualitatively, especially under these times with the virus.

It also apparently had something to do with Bantu crops starting to become ineffective the further South they went (different climate) which slowed down the expansion in Southwest South Africa.

The murder rate started increasing in the late 40s when apartheid started and started decreasing in after 1994 which is exactly when apartheid ended.
Highest murder rate ever recorded was still infer white rule. In 2016 the murder rate was the same as the 1960s.

Bantus have more of a claim towards Eastern South Africa.
Afrikaners (Europeans) have more of a claim towards Western South Africa.

The city with the highest murder rate in Southafrica is Capetown , it has one of the highest murder rates in the world. In Capetown black bantu people are the minority, 38% is black, 14% white and 52% coloured (mixed race white+bantu+khoisan+indian).
Johannesburg has 70% black population but it has less murders than Capetown.
the Limpopo region has the highest black population percentage(96%) and the Lowest murder rate while western cape have one the Lowest black populations (30%) and one of the highest murder rates

They tried to do this right when apartheid was collapsing but Mandela promised no reprisals against Afrikaners. However, in recent years, they've been circling back to the idea.

That's true but the racist claim that Southafrica is burning with crime (which is partially true) while it was less dangerous during apartheid (which is false). Crime levels under apartheid were probably higher cause the regime didn't care about black people dying, now statistics are much more open thanks to the democratic system. Southafrica was always a violent country unfortunately, it's only some whites who pretend like crime didn't exist before.
I Still think we can blame the ANC for not doing enough to lower crime rates, but at the end of the day it's about the same rate as during apartheid and decreased much from the early 90s

Cape Town is one of the richest areas of South Africa with higher inequality rates. Of course crime and murder will be higher due to more wealth inequality.

Just like Chicago has a higher murder and crime rate despite having a minority of blacks vs some rural farmers village in Mississippi with a majority black population.
