I just watched a documentary about Northern Mali and the French have been stealing Uranium from them for 40 years. It's the poorest region in the world but they've been powering France for four decades. I hate the French. But get this, it's extremely dangerous to live in a region where Uranium is mined. It contaminates plants and water with radioactivity. The very air you breathe is dangerous. We should never mine this stuff. Not now not ever. No amount of money is worth it.

CAR won't do anything about it because these 'peace keepers' are their allies against their own people. AU did this in Somalia remember? Wherever there are peacekeepers there is child rape.

Yes! The people who fought hardest against them during the colonial era. Southern Mali is a propping the French up and ripping off the Northerners by billions a year.

@Shamis thats why they sent their merceneries the french foreign legion to mali when the malian gov was on the verge of coup de etate! their excuses is that theyre fightin some terrorist in mali!
its not suprise to me, iran tried to mine the uranium in galkacyo three years ago they paid alot of money to TFG but they were kickd out after sarabia discovered their intentions.
after that a jewish guy went there and hired a few somali soldiers and basically lived there for years. he used to brag how the somalia was very nice country to live and the fresh air and virgin beaches. the word was tht he was explorong ways to get to the uranium.
he was offered protection by some somali caaqil and roamed galkacayo and kismayo freely. he was popular with the locals.

anyway i dnt think theres much risk mining it cuz iran is doin it in their country every day and us does. plus the reserve of uranium is near zero in the world so a new frontier like somalia will be the last place and it will be mined with or without somalias blessing

True, I also read that the Bantus are killing the Tuaregs in genocidal mass which caused that rebellion two years ago.

They're the ones the French favoured because they were ok with being neo colonised. They had no right to sell the Tuaregs resources. I'm glad Tuaregs declared their own state. This is a bit like Ethiopia and Somali Galbeed.

Very true sis, I hope Tuaregs prevail in their struggle. They are fellow Afro-Asiatics and their nomad culture is akin to hours

idont think so. if somalia galbeed arent happy with ethiopia they cud revolt and secede from them. ethiopia doesnt want another war with somalis when al shbb and onlf are inflictin mayhem around them

They've been revolting since the annexation. Ethiopia is a police state and so you'll never hear about it. OLF have been fighting them too but again, nothing in the news.
