Hopefully we can start seeing more young Somali prospects in the MLS soon.
I never knew americans played football like that

That's very interesting. It's the complete opposite in Europe. Majority come from working class background. It's why they're are so many black people, especially in France. It's not very organized like America, and you have to play in local competitions to be seen. 2 of my classmates got scouted for fulham.Let me explain America's sports structure
Our youth development pipelines are mainly connected to our schools. 99% of Somali parents weren't aware of this at all and didn't allow their sons to compete for any school teams. Only a extremely small minority of somali American kids got to keep in sports. Hence why we barely have any track athletes, basketball players, soccer players, and football players.
Also our soccer system is pay to play. It's basically become a middle class sport like basketball here. Parents gotta pay like 1-3k a year to put their kid in some sort of academy or club that competes in a youth league. Only a few amount of poor kids get free offers to compete in these leagues. Hence why America has struggled to build a strong national team.
We have thousands of kids nationwide that love soccer but most of them are poor minorities. Poor Hispanics and Africans do very well for public school soccer teams. The really good ones get college scholarships and pray they get drafted into the MLS

UK malis still zero![]()
big upps to US and scandi somalis niggas with actual talent
This kid is insane prospect he’s definitely going to Europe as soon as he turns 18.
@Kisame i saw with all the previous American players a lot of them were from refugee camps and they didn’t last long so they could have been fake ageing.
This kid was born here (I’m assuming) so skys the limit
All 3 of them repped SomaliaYep. I also think he might be getting mentored by handwalla who was a pro baller himself. Handwalla was in the MLS for 4 years and knows what it takes to make it to the pros.
"they didn’t last long so they could have been fake ageing."
This low-key disrespectful
I also just found out we've had some another ethnic mali in the league for only 1 season
Omar abdullahi Mohamed played one season with FC Cincinnati back in 2016. Afterwards spent the next 6 years jumping between different second divisions in America and randomly ended his career in the Turkish 2nd league

We also had a Canadian mali get drafted to an MLS team

But he ended up not making the team do to roster limitations and somehow ended up in the Canadian premier League for a bit. Nows he's in the USL which Is basically like our 2nd division here in america.

We also got another abdi in the USL. Abdi Mohamed

Here's a tiktok for Mohamed Omar.
He Said he will continue to represent America I don’t blame him Somalia athletics are corrupt plus he will get the best training and opportunities playing with America
Our youth team lowkey performs well but yeah makes no sense for him to leave America behindBeing part of the best team in concacaf >>> joining the worst African national team
He’s very unlikely to switch he last played for them in November he’s a starter not just part of the squad. Our youth team lowkey performs well but yeah makes no sense for him to leave America behind
so far none of the highly touted Somali diaspora talent have joined the team
