Weird guest habits when you have people over

So I have a cousin of mine crashing over at my apartment for a few days. Masha allah hes a good kid and has already established himself as hooyos favorite.

But he has a weird habit. He currently lives with a few roommates and tells me it's a whole mess over there. He can barely get any sleep and is thinking about moving back home. Long story short, last night I find myself in the kitchen looking for a few snacks when I hear footsteps coming from the living room. I was a little confused because i've been staying in this apartment for a while now and I've never once heard any kinda sound coming from my neighbors.

I slowly walk over and i find my cousin fast asleep on the couch. There he was laying with his phone on his chest listening to a bunch of people walking and it was a five hour long special where all you could hear were foot steps.I didnt wake him up and I went right back to sleep. This morning I jokingly asked him about it and he told me he needs sounds to fall asleep. His friends are always up late night chit chatting or playing video games. He also told me their upstairs neighbors were really loud and over time hearing those footsteps became a relaxing sound.

That’s kinda cute. Nothing wrong with that.

Cute aaa
Dont let him hear you say that lol

Note: I dont think theres anything wrong with it. But i do however think it'll have a negative effect on his sleep maybe in the long run...those methods get old real quick

When I younger whenever it was nap time i had a trick to falling asleep. I used to take real deep breaths and I would listen to myself breathing out loud. For some odd reason no matter how woke I was I would eventually fall asleep. I told him about this little method of mine and I'll be asking him about it real soon :salute:

Best way to sleep, dikir, then day dream. I would just lay there, thinking (If i am by myself, if its normal arrangements, then no need, the wife talking would ease me to sleep)

You tryna make the fellas on here jelly? Anyways, @Amazonian it is cute, but I’d say if he wants to fall asleep, tell him to read books (especially fiction ones). That’s what I do when I can’t sleep.

Most users are 10x lucky then me, I am a old man in a young man body. Talking generally makes me want to sleep, I would assume that too much talking leads to a drowsy head :pachah1:

It makes sense, your cousins gotten used to sleeping with lots of sound.

I got annoyed at guests who 1) show up unannounced and 2) have wild kids that spread out into the house to perform a thorough forensic examination of your belongings.

I was about to say

@Amazonian you are lucky your cousin is only listening to foot steps background noise even though it’s weird :dead:

When I was younger we had a relative stay with us for 4 months because they were homeless . I didn’t have a problem with them staying with us , the issue was they had 5 hyperactive kids who destroyed almost everything in the house :ohlord:

..What's so relaxing about hearing/listening to footsteps?:shookgabre:

It has the opposite effect on me, my upstairs neighbors loud footsteps drive me livid. I lost count the number of times I bought noise-cancelling devices on Amazon that didn't work.
