What counts as proof ?

“The statements of the scholars must be supported by legislates proofs and are not to be cited as proofs (by themselves).”

- Shaykh ul-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رحمة الله عليه

Majmūʿ al-Fatāwá 26/202

Some muqqalideen will take statements from their shaykh without hesitation, even the four ulemah themselves maliki, hanafi, hanbali and shafi said if a statement of ours contradicts quran and sunnah then don't listen to us.

This alone is enough to dispell any arguments from ahlul kalam.

If there is no proof from sunnah and quran its not valid no matter who says it.

Of course he must have proof with him either from Quran and sunnah or ijma' or tawatur. If not we must throw his words into the trash

You don’t even know arabic and can’t even read the Quran and Hadith in it’s original language, so what makes you think that you are more qualified than people who spend their lives studying the deen and all of its sciences at finding “proof”? Typical salafi. People like you and me must follow a madhab or a local sheikh, and stick with it as we are laymen.

Why does he have to be a layman and follow a shiekh. The Shiekh looks at the same criteria that the brother will be doing. Which is Qur'an and Sunnah. This is just laziness, you have a super computer in your pocket. Every classical tafsir and collection of notable hadiths is online and readily translated by people who are experts in Quranic studies. Especially in today's time when most ulema are morally bankrupt and will abuse their positions and use it as a money making scheme. "2 hour consultation" to be told allahu al'am. Smh.

I can finally agree with you on something that some ulemah in modern days are corrupt and use their diin to gain some money.

But still you advocate for liberal stuff which is contradictory to the diin, may allah guide you

today I was reading the (Great Fitna) book so the writer was saying that the first nail in coffin of rashidun caliphate was the death of Hazrat Umar RA because he was the great wall between fitna and the ummah and by his death, this sealed door or wall was broken and fitna started to hiting the ummah.

so do you agree with that?😁😁

yeah, he was a legend at administering the provinces imagine conquering Egypt Persia Levant, and Iraq and still have the power to continue and still know how to rule these new land.

and one is amazing is that Hazrat Omar wasn't like us a person who studied politics or management so we were real legend

I think that’s for the scholars to decide. As laymen, we should be blind followers of a madhab and stick to it. If we neglect the Madhabs and downplay it’s importance, the ummah would be in a disaster.

i didn't intend to downplay anyone akhi, its just some extreme muqalideen will deny something due to their madhab having difference of opinion or people invent stuff.

Its just a general post reminding ultimately evidence comes from quran and sunnah not the words of people.
